Volunteer Trip 2025 a great success!

In August, five Irish volunteers travelled from Dublin to Zambia. The volunteers availed of our library to provide intensive courses in basic and advanced computer skills to local teachers, who in the past, may have had little or no experience of computers. As most schools do not have computers, or even electricity, it was a major improvement to be able to use our new library and computer lab to deliver IT and computer classes to these teachers.

Our computer classes were primarily directed at local teachers, who learnt sufficient skills to teach computers and IT to their own pupils in the local schools. Furthermore, their schools will now be invited to visit our computer lab for formal lessons every week. In this way, we hope to expand computer learning rapidly in the area. While our volunteers were in Zambia, they were also working on our other projects to help in education and literacy and to bring small business people out of poverty.
