A Visit from the Irish Ambassador

Published by on

We were delighted to welcome Ireland’s Ambassador to Zambia, Aidan Fitzpatrick, and his wife Niamh, to visit our library at Chibolele in Chipulukusu on 18th September 2026.

From our libraries and book collections to our computer facilities and new programmes, the visit was an opportunity to show what Inspire Zambia has been building in Zambia and the people who make it happen.

It was particularly valuable to share the stories behind the projects — the Irish support, the work of our Zambian staff and the growing involvement of the local community.

Visits like this also remind us of the strong connections that exist between the peoples of Ireland and Zambia.

We were very pleased to welcome Ambassador Fitzpatrick and look forward to continuing our collaboration and support with the Irish Embassy in Zambia. PS. We even managed to make it to the Zambian television news!
